Sixth IJMC Judging Seminar, 5 and 6 April 2014

Updated 20th may 2014

In order to promote and ensure a high standard of judging at the Jet World Masters event which is held every 'uneven' year, the IJMC organises
a Judge Training Seminar during the intervening year. This seminar was especially important since the rules had seen a number of significant
changes at the January AGM and it needed to be ensured that all the judges were on the same page, so to speak.

Twenty five judges from fourteen countries started arriving at the host hotel in Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler on the afternoon of Friday the 4th of April 2014.
Old acquaintances were renewed and new ones made as the judges from all corners of the world arrived. A sociable banquet style dinner ended the evening.

The following morning, after breakfast, the attendees were whisked away to the THW headquarters which was graciously made available by them for the
presentations as well as static judging practical. The morning was taken up by the Static Judging Presentation by Johan Ehlers as well as the first part
of the Flight Judging Presentation by David Tappin. After lunch at the local flying field (the Jet-Power site), back at THW Headqurters, the
Static Judging Practical was done as well as the second part of the Flight Judging Presentation. An even more sociable dinner concluded the day.

Sunday morning was taken up by the Flight Judging Practical, where a number of flights were scored and then analysed by the judges group. After a
de-briefing and closing remarks in the seminar room and lunch at the hotel it was time to say good-bye to all the old and new friends and
depart to our next destination.

Finally, it could not have happened without the hard work and preparation and organisation of our chairman Marc Fröhn, our past chairman Winnie Ohlgart,
David Tappin, Horst Westerholt and all the guys of THW. Many thanks are also due to the participants for their patience and co-operation to make it all
work. Last but not least a sincere word of thanks to our pilots Philip Avonds, Frank Westerholt and Martin Schempp for their willingness to have their
building and flying skills criticised and analysed so many times.
